We will create several mixed media portraits on various surfaces inlcluding:
art journal, canvas, and wood panel
as well as explore various media such as:
oil paint sicks, acrylic paint, oil pastel, stabilo 3-in-1 pencil, spray ink
You will learn:
*The basics in face proportion
*How to draw simple-yet-expressive portraits
*How to create your own mixed media collage paper
*How to create luscious, layered backgrounds
*How to incorporate your portrait into your composition

Nicole Austin, aka "Kinueko," is a self-taught mixed media artist, designer and instructor with a BA in Creative Arts. A life-long learner and lover of the arts herself, she strives to provide her students with quality lessons that are geared toward self expression and exploration. With over 20 years of combined teaching experience both in-person and online, she is dedicated to helping others fulfill their creative passions, at any step of their journey as an artist.
